Are you thinking about starting your own business in Essex? 'Start My Biz' is the virtual workshop coming to Essex* this May, to support aspiring entrepreneurs and teach them the skills they need to be a success!

With expert business coaches from Let's Do Business Group, learn everything from refining your business idea to marketing and managing your finances - and prepare to successfully start your business. This free workshop is brought to you by the team at the North Essex Economic Board, Backing Essex Business, and Let's Do Business Group.

*This free workshop is for businesses based in North Essex only, (Braintree, Maldon, Tendring, Colchester and Chelmsford) and is brought to you by the teams at the North Essex Economic Board, Backing Essex Business, and Let's Do Business Group. The programme will help you to:

• Explore and clarify your business idea
• Research your target market and understand your competitors
• Develop your business model and kick-start your business plan
• Help you to understand the numbers, create projections and explore funding options
• Start shaping your marketing strategy incl. online and social media presence
• Set your business goals
• Overview of business types, tax and insurance, accounting software, bank accounts
• Tools to help with taking the next step
• Gain peer support from like-minded people

The programme consists of 3 x 3 hour sessions, each from 10 am to 1 pm, over 3 days this May.

Workshop dates:

• Wednesday 8th May- Business Planning and goal setting
• Thursday 9th May - Marketing, social media, and online presence
• Wednesday 15th May - Understanding Finances and practical steps to getting started.

Applications close on Friday 3rd May 2024. Please note - we have limited spaces, so don't miss out!

Eligibility:

• Living/business based in North Essex (Braintree, Maldon, Tendring, Colchester and Chelmsford)
• Open to anyone that's not yet up and running or has recently registered as self-employed or a company.

These FREE sessions will take place via Zoom, which you can access Zoom easily from your desktop computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

Please note that previous participants have done so whilst caring for children and juggling other distractions. So don't let that be a barrier - if you have any specific needs or cannot attend all the sessions, please drop us a line to info@ldbgroup.co.uk and we can discuss options.

This programme is delivered by the North Essex Economic Board (NEEB) in partnership with Backing Essex Business and Let's Do Business Group.
